Good afternoon Torpedoes!
Great work by all our meet 1 swimmers!!! Meet 1 results are posted on the website under the event. You can also find them through the swimtopia app or in your account under each swimmer's name (You can also see historical swims there.)
Thank you to our coaches and volunteers who made this happen. It was a big change and took some adjusting to our *new normal* (its a phrase we're all hearing a lot lately) but it went pretty smoothly. We have a few things to adjust on Saturday morning so here comes my favorite thing - bullet points!
- If you are volunteering, please make your best effort to have another parent watch your swimmers outside of the gate when their age group is not swimming. As a household of working parents, I totally get where this is difficult but it does make it harder to keep space between all the kids and parents. Hopefully Saturday AM meets are easier for everyone to help with that.
- Spectators are limited to 1. We know everybody wants to see their children swim - see if you can come up with a rotating systems that allows everyone to see an event or two. Volunteering is a great way to get both parents inside the gates.
- It was SO nice to see everyone chatting and enjoying the morning. Please remember to keep 6ft between yourself and others as much as possible. Mask wearing can help too, but is not required
- If you or your child has experienced ANY symptoms of unidentified illness in the last 24 hours, even if they seem very mild, please please please do NOT send them to practice or meets that day. COVID symptoms can vary wildly and it is especially difficult to know if/when a child may have the virus because they may never experience any severe symptoms at all. These include but are not limited to: headache, fever, vomiting and/or GI distress, dry cough, chest tightness, and changes in taste or smell. We are trusting parents to make the right decision. Giving up a day of practice or even a meet to preserve the rest of the season and keep everyone healthy is worth it!
I know I sound absolutely insane with the rules but we really need to make sure we are following the guidelines given to us by the HOA as a condition of using their facilities this year AND make sure that we keep the spread of this thing to a minimum (because we all know we NEED our kids in school come fall LOL).
