Volunteer Info

Parents of swimmers are required to volunteer!  Click on the date to see the volunteer roster for each meet.  Please note these assignments are subject to change, so be sure to confirm your assignment the day of the meet.  Click here for the volunteer sign-up.

June 15   Arrive 3:30 D thru H
June 22   Arrive 4:00 J thru M
June 29   Arrive 3:30 N thru R
July 6   Arrive 4:00 S thru V

Everyone participates in Clean-up.  Please check the above schedule; when your last name begins with the letter assigned to the corresponding meet date  you will be called upon to stay to the end of the meet to help take down the tents, pick up all trash, and help collect and put up all equipment used in meet.  If you're on vacation on the date your scheduled for clean-up,  please work one of the meets you will be in town.

Clean-up Duties for Home meets

Ready Benches moved to the landscaped area near the restrooms
Backstroke flags and poles moved to area outside girls restrooms
Tents taken down and placed near girls restrooms
Awards benches stacked near girls restroom
Misc. 6 foot rec. tables moved to entry of pool

Trash picked up from around the tent area
Lights taken down and moved to area near restrooms


Swim Team Job Descriptions
 

Except where noted, all positions are needed at all meets including preliminaries, finals, & all-stars.  The annual league clinic lasts 2 to 3 hours and does not require any type of exam or physical demands. 

STROKE JUDGE (4 from each team needed, must attend annual league clinic)
Determines if swimmer completed entire swim event according to league rules concerning the swimmer’s start, body position, arm stroke, leg kick, stroke order, turns, and finishes 

EVENT STARTER (home meets only, must attend annual league clinic)
Determines that all lanes are properly filled with eligible swimmer for the event
Determines that all swimmers are in proper start position in each lane
S
tarts the event with an alarm, horn, whistle, etc.
Determines that all swimmers properly begin the event, disqualifies swimmers who did not 

EVENT ANNOUNCER (Home meets only)
Announces individual events as they occurs and facilitates the meets 

SCOREKEEPER (3 from each team needed)
Keeps track of score at meets 

AGE GROUP MARSHAL
Keeps swimmers together in age groups
Gets age group swimmers to ready bench before start of event
Locates swimmers who are not in ready bench order 

TIMERS
Operates a stopwatch on each swimmer in a lane
Records time on a time sheet 

RUNNER
Takes time sheets from timers and “runs” them to the scorekeepers table

AWARDS
Takes timesheets from scorekeepers and awards place ribbons to the swimmers according to times in each heat

SET-UP WORKERS
Set up pool area for home meets
Transports and set-up tents/tarps for away meets

CLEAN-UP CREW
Take down and put away  tents, flags, etc
Pick up trash, lost and found items, etc.
Transports tents/tarps back to club pool after away meets

EVERYONE
At every meet assigned in alphabetical order each family WILL help with clean up.
Please help when called upon to organize and set up for a meet.
